Troubleshooting PC Security Issues
Hi there and welcome to Pluralsight. This module is entitled Troubleshooting PC Security Issues. My name is Tim Warner, and I'm happy to be your instructor. We have a learning path for the CompTIA A+ 220-902 certification exam. The first course in that path is an introduction. And then each subsequent course, namely Windows OS, Other Operating Systems, Security, Software Troubleshooting, what we're doing now, and Operational Procedures all come directly from the CompTIA published exam blueprint. You can visit comptia. org and download the pdf objectives for free, there's no charge, and I encourage you to match every objective in that document up against the coverage that I'm giving you here, we've left nothing out. Compared to some of the other courses that I've done for this learning series, this is shorter, it has four modules. Thus far, if you've been with me since the beginning, we just emerged from a module where we performed troubleshooting on common PC OS problems. Today we're concerned with PC security. The third and fourth modules respectively deal with mobile operating systems with module three covering app issues and module four back to information security. I told you in the previous module that the outlay for these troubleshooting modules is pretty darn similar, and that's true. We're going to go through a long list of common symptoms and resolutions. We'll review a whole bunch of troubleshooting tools, many of which you've seen many times before. But remember, I'm obligated to cover every single objective in the CompTIA blueprint. And also, in adult education repetition is often key to mastery. This module actually has an extra, and that is we're going to cover general guidance on removing malware. Let's get started.

Troubleshooting Mobile OS and App Issues
Hi there and welcome to Pluralsight. My name is Tim Warner, and this module is entitled Troubleshooting Mobile OS and App Issues. We have a learning path here at Pluralsight, that you probably are aware of, that covers every single objective of the CompTIA A+ 220-902 certification exam. The first course is a brief introduction to the series, and then each course maps to a pillar from CompTIA's published exam objectives. The first course, content wise, deals with Windows. Then we cover other operating systems, namely OS X and Linux, security, we're doing software troubleshooting here, and the last module is called Operational Procedures. We're doing software troubleshooting here, just four modules. The first two deal with full sized computers, troubleshooting PC OS problems and PC security issues. Right now we're doing a two-part miniseries on mobile operating systems. Today we're covering troubleshooting mobile OS and app issues. And the fourth and final module is concerned with mobile device security troubleshooting. As is the normal scheme of things for these troubleshooting modules, we're going to do a big old list of common symptoms and resolutions that you're likely to see in troubleshooting mobile devices in the field, and we'll also cover some tools. Now tools is a bit of a misnomer here, of course I'm getting this verbiage from the CompTIA blueprint. With mobile devices, yes, there are a whole number of physical tools, but remember that the 220-902 exam is software based. So in that part of the module we're going to do it all in a demo and I'm going to just demonstrate, basically, skills, mobile device skills, that come to the forefront when you're troubleshooting basic problems. With that, let's get started.
