Description

Throughout these lessons, we will learn how to create an exterior architectural model using AutoCAD. We will use time-saving techniques to create models quickly and easily. We will focus on the techniques used to create high-quality models. We will also make sure that the model can be easily linked to a rendering software such as 3ds Max. By the end of this training, you will have a working knowledge of how to create quick models with high quality. Software required: AutoCAD 2015.

Introduction and Project Overview
Hi, everyone. My name is Roger Cusson. I am an instructor of CAD technology at Vanier College. I teach architectural modeling and rendering tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and 3ds Max. In this course, you're going to learn how to build a 3D exterior model of a residential structure in AutoCAD, so that it is ready to be lengthened and rendered in a rendering program such as 3ds Max. Some of the key takeaways from watching this course include learning how to. . . set up a 3D modeling environment from 2D reference drawings, model key elements of the building quickly and efficiently, use layers to distinguish different building materials, add detail where necessary to enhance the quality of the model, prepare the model to be lengthened to a rendering program, such as 3ds Max. By the end of the training, you will be able to create your own 3D models of your own projects. I'm excited to share these techniques with you. So let's get started with the first lesson.
