Introduction
In Illustrator you can use graphic styles to completely transform the look of objects and type, adding everything from layered fills and strokes to shadows and 3D effects with just one click. Illustrator includes a library of graphic styles you can experiment with, but when you want to create custom graphic styles for your own projects, you need to start in the Appearance panel, and the Appearance panel is one of the most powerful control centers in Illustrator, and knowing how to use it will take your workflow to a whole new level. My name is Laura Coyle, I'm a freelance illustrator, and in this hour long tutorial I'll show you step-by-step how to use the Appearance panel to create complex, multilayered appearances for type and graphics. And this can add a lot of style and interest to your work, but what makes it really powerful is that the graphic styles and appearances we create are live, so your type remains completely editable and scalable. So if you're ready to take Illustrator to a whole new level, meet me in the next movie.
